Technical Questions

Definitely yes! If your simulations are already working on your local copies of the simulators (Gazebo, DRC or Webots) you can use them as usual in The Construct. Just create a zip file with all the packages of your simulation and upload them to your zone in The Construct. Then select launch, and you are done!

You can include whatever packages and software you want on the simulation you run in The Construct. You cannot install new packages in the cloud machine since you do not have root permissions. However, you can request us to install specific software for you, and after a quick evaluation, we will install it for you. At present, 95% of the installation requests got accepted and installed.

Yes, you can connect it very easily by using the Virtual Private Network button included in the simulation screen. Watch this video to learn how to do it.

Reasons to connect your local computer to the simulation may be, to connect rviz to the simulation, to locally record bag files or just to run some of your control programs in your local computer, to name a few.

No. It is not mandatory to create ROS compatible simulations. You can create plain Gazebo or Webots simulations. However, the whole system is ready to work seamless with ROS and we recommend you to create simulations that use ROS.

Yes we can. If you do not know or want to create your simulation, you can order us to create yours. We are a team of experts in this field including designers that can create very realistic simulations of your robot and/or environment.

Check for example, our simulation of the Gocart robot (by Yujin Robot), the Baylo autonomous truck (by Baylo)  or even the BB-8 robot from Star Wars.

Subscription Related Questions

Minimum amount of time is 1 month. You can cancel at anytime.

Our suggestion is that you start by creating a free account, trying our system, and once you are happy with our system, then switch to one of the payment options (more power, more hours). We are so proud of our solution that we know that once you try it, you will be convinced that The Construct is the way to simulate your robots.

Nothing. Your simulations and models will remain available in The Construct for you if you decide not to renew. If you do not renew your subscription, you will be automatically downgraded to the free account, which allows you to use our system 10 hours each month at low CPU. You will be able to access your simulations if within that period.

Yes. If you are involved in a STEM program and want to use The Construct for your teachings, we have special packages that may include many benefits and discounts. Please contact us for this purpose.

If that is your case, you can ask us for the amount of hours per month you would need, and we will modify your subscription accordingly.
